Getting into the swing of things....

So this is all working out nicely as of today. I know it's only been 24 hours since we left but already I can see changes. The kids are relaxing, we are relaxing and its a Godsend! An early morning walk on the river front was the perfect start to the day. I meant to tell you, there haven't been two posts in one day (I'm not that good lol) Ignore the date on top of the first post. I actually did that one yesterday but the stupid blog site was difficult to maneuver and I kept losing the work I did so I went back in today, saved yesterdays post and transferred it here.. voila. A better way of doing things.

This morning, we all woke up slowly. As usual I was first cab off the rank. After a great shower..ahhhh, (the shower and toilet blocks here at the caravan park are great.. there must be 20 toilets alone in the women's block and about 8 showers.. so no competing for time in there) I wandered back out to find Riley had staggered out of bed. He was laughing his head off. Turns out he had a momentary blank and thought we were still in Safety Bay. He walked outside and went, "What the heck," before it came to him where we actually were.

Here's something interesting (well, I found it interesting, you might not lol.) Understand what I am about to write about is firmly in the 'right here and now,' and could and probably will change again tomorrow. That said it's not the first time this youngest child of ours has mentioned this but it's by far the most fervently said so far. For example: Riley said to me this morning while we were sitting outside in the sunshine, set up at a table doing his SIDE school work - "You know, mum. I really like doing school work this way (huh?) I feel more confident and can do things on my own  (double huh?) I am actually enjoying doing the school work, it's so different to normal school... I actually REALLY like learning at the moment...especially my math," (this classifies as OMG!) This is a kid that has struggled with math. He is a whizz at English and has started to read books - a bit of a late starter but hey, better late than never. And yet, here we are. It's a relaxing atmosphere out and about the park. He feels no pressure to do the work straight away, that's the beauty of it. He can do the work at 7am when he wakes up or 10pm tonight if he wants (provided he doesn't fall asleep first.) No normal school hours, and no jostling for the teachers attention. He has it all... from us lol.

So the men took the boat out for the very first time today. This big orange boat has been tweaked and added to and played with at home before we left but they never actually got to get out on the ocean and take it for a spin. Today they did. There's a small video attached for those interested on the first firing up the engine and wouldn't you know it.. I stopped videoing just as they got to the middle of the river and the engine conked out lol. It started again first try. So all in all, a great day so far. They are out fishing, I'm getting some time to fix and organise this blog and all is good in the world.

Turns out we are staying another night here. By the time the guys get back it will be late afternoon and they will be tired from all the sun and fresh air (and wasn't it 'fresh' last night..brrrrr.) This morning at 7am.. beautiful though... short sleeve attire was called for .. whooo. Don't know quite where we will end up tomorrow - when I know, so will you.

Adios for now
Carolyn
